Greetings
fellow
enthusiast! The
Heartland Chevelle Club (H.C.C.) is the "power-era"
vehicle club literally in the center of it all--America's Heartland.
We are dedicated to the preservation of vintage Chevelles and El
Caminos from 1964 to 1987 and Monte Carlos from 1970 to 1972. To find
out more about
the H.C.C. and our goals, please use the navigation links on the
left.

HOW the
HOBBY STARTED
The Chevelle Legend started in August of 1963 at a press conference in
Chicago. It was that historic day when Chevrolet's General Manager,
Semon E. "Bunkie" Knudsen, unveiled the all-new Chevelle for 1964.
Chevrolet needed a vehicle to fill the gap between its full size Impala
and its compact Nova models. And fill the gap they did with sales of
338,286 Chevelles the first year. The Chevelle SS became an instant hit
with sales of 76,860 units, which accounted for nearly 23 percent of
all Chevelle sales.
