Rick & Jan Lambert's '70

Car info: An original SS 396/325 Automatic w/AC Car, we originally purchased it to rebuild to original. Replacing the floor, new door skins, rear quarters in and out, front fenders and having to rebuild the rear window deck, we found it so full of rust the frame even had to be replaced. We then decided to build it the way we wanted, CUSTOM. Lowered, disk brakes all around, shaved door handles with electronic door and trunk openers. Upgraded to a tune port fully electronic computer controlled engine and trany from an 87 Camaro. Flow Masters makes her purr. The rusted out frame was replaced and dropped 2 inches with Eibach progressive racing springs. We also added 18 inch wheels, (10 inches wide ) to fill the wheel openings. The 3.73:1 posi was rebuilt to keep up with the completely new chassis. Fuel tank was converted to handle an in tank pump and airbags were added to handle additional weight when traveling. We then added electric windows, seats, tilt steering. Cruise control was a must when we decided to replace the original AC/Heat with a HOT ROD heating and air box which gave us a better looking engine compartment and much more creature comfort. Tan Interior from a 2001 Impala was modified to fit the 70 passenger compartment. My wife sewed the new headliner. Tilt steering and 1970 Monte Carlo dash components were added to dress up the dash. With custom Radio components and good middle range speakers, it is just fun just to sit and listen. My wife picked out the colors and hit a big home run. The paint is a special TEAL blend from Dupont which carries our last name in its registered name. Blue Pearl Metallic Ghost flames are confined to the front clip and make them selves visible when light dances across the body. This build was an 8 year venture of love. With the help of a couple professional friends in the business the electronics and drive chain is near perfection. With the help of Mike Tesar, also with HCC, the body and fit is also nearly perfect. This is now a comfortable, quick, easy on the eyes road car, full filling our every request. We think it is all worth it when we get it out on the road. COME JOIN US
